Recent Photoshoots in Los Angeles
It’s been a minute, the last COVID wave in the winter slowed down work quite a bit, and I wasn’t able to do as many fun portfolio shoots. I’m back at it full force now, but I need to update everyone about the last few shoots that I’ve done. I’ve changed my philosophy quite a bit regarding which types of models I work with.
El Matador State Beach Photoshoots and Info for Photographers
El Matador is always an interesting stop. This used to be considered a bit of a gem in Malibu, but the age of Instagram ruined whatever type of “secrecy” there was to it. Anyone local to Malibu or even Los Angeles probably knows about it.. when you go there on a busy day, it looks like a social media nightmare. At any given moment multiple photoshoots are going on, you’ll see half-naked girls, proposals, commercial filming, smoke bombs, crazy people climbing rocks for their dating profiles.. you NAME it. BAD for a relaxing day at the beach, GREAT if you want an engaging people-watching experience.
Working with Paul George of the LA Clippers
Last November, I had the opportunity to shoot Paul George of the LA Clippers at Baldwin Hills. Amazing that after all this time, I never spoke about this on any of my public accounts until now. I mean, shooting Paul George is a pretty damn cool gig. So why haven’t I spoken about it? I usually keep a tight lip about the commercial jobs that I’m working on. Obviously you need approval to get these images published, but commercial shoots are also not really about me, It’s about the clients. The shoots that I enjoy the most are the ones that I have creative control over, the ones that I create for myself, and my portfolio. However, I DO have a chance to talk about how these commercial shoots work and what the goal of the shoot is for the client. Also, how the hell did I end up on Baldwin Hills shooting Paul George?
Behind the Scenes: Ocean City, New Jersey Photoshoot with Model Brianna Rappucci
I was doing some work on my website today when I realized that I don’t really have any video footage available on here. That was a big mistake, especially because I have some cool work in my archive. I went back and poured over what I have and found this gem of a video filmed by a great pal Michael Danila. This was shot in Ocean City, New Jersey in 2017 with Brianna Rappucci, but I feel like it has some serious Santa Monica vibes. Check it out, it’s only a minute long so I hope y’all can watch through.
London Olive Photoshoot in Malibu
Malibu is BY FAR my favorite place to shoot. It’s one of the best locations for a swimwear shoot in the greater Los Angeles area. Honestly, we got pretty lucky with the location. We did this shoot at Leo Carrillo State Beach; a few days before, I went there to scout the place and everything was normal, but on the day of, we spotted a sailboat that washed onto the beach, and we were able to utilize it for some pictures.
