1400+ Actors Served

I opened up my DTLA studio in August of 2020- a couple of years later, I started working exclusively with actors. Bookings have skyrocketed, and I’m proud to say I’ve already blown past 1000 bookings and am now at a pace of 300-400 per year. A big, big thank you to the Actors, Casting Directors, Managers, and Agents who’ve accepted my work so graciously. When I first started, it was almost weird not to have tacky characters and crazy looks proliferating your acting portfolio. Whether I came at the right moment or helped facilitate the change, I’m just happy to be here!

Matt’s work is BEYOND. He has an incredible eye, he is extremely easy to communicate with in a shoot both his suggestions and vision during shoots and in the pre shoot phase (outfit and makeup / location planning). He gets edits done IMPOSSIBLY fast. There’s literally not a bad thought to say. Hire him!

Los Angeles Headshots: Celebrating the Best in You

Most actors walk in thinking they need to perform for the camera — hold a type, hit a look, imitate whatever they think casting wants. I’m not interested in any of that. The best headshots happen when you stop trying to “be” anything and let the small, in-between moments show up. That’s where the honesty is, and honesty is what reads on a casting page.

I build the session around that idea: slow down, breathe, settle into yourself. Once you’re actually present, the camera does the rest.

Los Angeles Headshot Photographer

You don’t usually expect a headshot photographer to come from the pine-scrub outskirts of Atlantic City, but here we are. I grew up surrounded by boardwalk neon, marshland fog, and the kind of people who tell stories in half-sentences. That mix of union grit and boardwalk charm somehow translated into how I shoot: calm, curious, less interested in “perfect posing” and more interested in the little flickers of personality people don’t notice in themselves. I moved to the Arts District in L.A. and built a studio from scratch — literally no mentor, no existing photography pedigree — just a stubborn urge to make portraits that feel real.

Along the way, I picked up film, medium format, and a habit of paying attention to people in the quiet moments between the “big expressions.” Actors show up ready to perform; I like helping them un-perform. The best shots always happen once the guard drops and the human shows up — the version of you that casting directors actually want to meet. That’s the vibe here: nothing forced, nothing slick, just an honest space where you get to look like yourself on a really good day.

Matt was literally the first photographer I ever worked with and completely set a standard to how all photoshoots should feel. He gets finished products back within reasonable timeframes, always keeps you updated and involved, professional and easy to communicate with

I got some headshots done with Matt recently. The quality of the shots was amazing and I was beyond happy with the outcome. I know so many photographers in the Los Angeles area and I gaurentee you that Matt is one of the kindest, most talented and most passionate ones you’ll find! He will really make sure you get shots you love and I couldn’t recommend him more. Professional experience through and through. Thanks so much Matt! :)
